Description

$100,000 U.S. Treasury Bearer Bond. A thirty year U.S. Treasury bearer bond issued in February of 1977. Like the $1,000,000 bond above, this bond was called by the Treasury on its first call date of February 15, 2002, when interest ceased to accrue, although it can be redeemed for its full face value of $100,000 through February of 2047. The bond bears ten coupons, and has a small pencil number on the face as well as a machine produced number on the right side of the bond. It's one of four $100,000 bonds in this extraordinary collection, and offers an opportunity to collectors which is unlikely to be repeated any time in the near future.
