Description

Fr. 1082b - One of Three in Collectors' Hands

Fr. 1082b $100 1914 Red Seal Federal Reserve Note PMG Choice Fine 15. Another extreme rarity from the Flynn Collection, this piece is on the census of only five known examples. Only a single Fr. 1082b has ever appeared at public auction; that has been the same note three times in 1991, 1999 and 2003. This note will be making its first trip to the auction block, and it will be only the second 1082b to ever be offered. Two of the five known 1082b's are permanently impounded: one in the Smithsonian and the other in the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank. PMG lists "Discoloration" on the holder, but for a note that is graded Fine 15, it's really not worthy of mention. The red overprint is bright, and the note is essentially problem free.
