Salt Lake City, UT- California & Salt Lake Mail Line $50A second piece from this rare issuer. This denomination is listed in the Rust Utah reference, but only with the "Sacramento" location engraved on the plate. A single $50 was offered as lot 638 in the Ford sale of October 12, 2004, with that piece and one other $50 the only two examples of this denomination we know of. The Ford piece was unissued (although bearing the Chorpenning signature), and was lower grade than this example, displaying a tear at the top left end and a nick in the bottom margin. This specimen is flawless for its PCGS grade of Very Fine 25.
