Description

Excessively Rare Fr. 822-1: One of Only Five Known

Fr. 822-1 $20 1915 Federal Reserve Bank Note PMG Very Fine 25. An extreme rarity from the fascinating Atlanta district. The traditional census for decades has been four, as no one knew of this piece, which Tom purchased privately many, many years ago. The total census is now five, with this the only piece yet seen by either grading service. A seriously damaged raw Very Good was the only Fr. 822-1 to auction since a 1991 Stack's sale. This note is a solid Very Fine, with bold, blue rubber-stamped signatures and not a hint of a flaw. An incredible rarity that may not be available again for decades to come.
