Fr. 271 $5 1899 Silver Certificate PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ. This note is simply perfect and as nice a Chief as any we've ever handled, and we have handled some pretty nice Chiefs. The margins of this example are nothing less than huge all the way around. The original embossing is also pronounced enough to be easily seen through the third-party holder, and the colors are absolute perfection. No string of superlatives could be too much for this impeccable Chief. It is quite easy to become jaded handling the quantity and quality of Type Notes that have passed through CAA auctions over the last sixteen years, but this is a note that can snap the most jaded currency professional back to attention.From The James Paul Collection.
