Rare and Lovely 1953B $5 Silver Star
Fr. 1657* $5 1953B Silver Certificate. PMG Choice About Unc 58 EPQ.This is a beautiful example of this latter day rarity, bright, fresh, and utterly original. We examined this note out of the holder before it was sent to the grading service and both your cataloguer and one other grader independently arrived at a Choice 64 EPQ designation for this piece. While there was some handling evident, it seemed to us nothing out of the ordinary for a note with exceptional paper quality. This is a very rare note in all grades, and especially so this nice, but it seems unfortunate that such an attractive example out of the holder is now locked up in a Choice About Uncirculated 58 encasement, even if it does bear the EPQ label.
