Description

Stockton $20 National Gold Bank Note-One of Seven Known

Stockton, CA - $20 Original National Gold Bank Note Fr. 1155 The First National Gold Bank Ch. # 2077
The Flynn collection example is one of just seven $20 National Gold Bank Notes known from Stockton. Track and Price lists just four offerings of any $20 NGBN from this bank during the past thirty years, with CAA selling one grading Fine in January of 2005 for $20,700, the same note selling (also by us) in May of that year for $25,300, and an example grading Very Good with a few small problems realizing $23,000 at a Spink auction last year. The Flynn specimen has a few well repaired splits, but the color and overall appearance easily compel the Very Good grade. If rarity and desirability are any guide, expect bidding to easily reach and perhaps well exceed...
