This is one of just six Petaluma 1875 $10 notes known. One is laminated, another has been graded as "Poor," and two others are low grade Very Good examples, leaving this and one other note as the two highest grade examples available to collectors, with both listed in the Kelly census as Fine. This example has great color, bold signatures, and loads of eye appeal. The other note was recently sold for $74,750 after being graded as Very Fine. This is the first public appearance of this example at auction since Tom obtained it in a 1977 Hickman-Oakes auction, and, although we do not think it is a $75,000 note, this attractive Fine example may well come in at...
