Rare San Jose $10 National Gold Bank Note
San Jose, CA - $10 Original National Gold Bank Note Fr. 1148 The Farmers National Gold Bank Ch. # 2158This is a very scarce denomination from this National Gold Bank, with the census standing at just eleven examples, including this Flynn collection example. This piece is in the census as "Very Good." It is considerably better than that on the face, appearing at least Fine, and about that grade on the back, which is somewhat more worn. The note has been severed and repaired, although the repair is quite professionally executed and visible only when the note is candled. A fair grade here is Very Good-Fine, repaired. The last San Jose $10 to sell at auction was last year, when a Fine realized $33,350. Expect this rather attractive example to realize about half of that figure, or...
