Rare Palestine 1929 £10 Note

Palestine £10 Palestine Currency Board 1929 Pick 9b
A beautiful, lightly circulated example from one of the most avidly collected areas in the world note arena. This lightly handled £10 note looks to have been conservatively graded with the always desirable traits of excellent color and bright paper. Great Holy Land vignettes are found on the notes of this issue which were printed when Palestine was a British mandate. Vignettes chosen for the notes have historical and religious significance to both the Jewish and Arab communities. In this case, the rectangular Tower of Ramlah pictured on the face was erected by Sultan Baibars when he conquered Ramlah back from the Crusaders in 1268. The back has a vignette of the Citadel of Jerusalem, which is also known as the "Tower of David," a landmark of the city since biblical times. This note is one of the earliest pieces we have ever offered from this issue and in the past, our estimates on these highly collectible notes have very often been surpassed. PMG Choice Very Fine 35.
