High Grade North Carolina Original Series $5
Raleigh, NC - $5 Original Fr. 397 The Raleigh NB of North Carolina Ch. # 1557A rare North Carolina type from a very scarce bank which issued First Charters only. The Kelly census shows just eight Original Series $5 examples from all banks in North Carolina combined, with the one piece reported from this issuer listed as "Good." Fortunately for collectors, this piece, which is new to the census, is far nicer, so much so, in fact, that it places second in the condition census for all Original Series fives from the Tarheel State.
