Fr. 1225 $10000 1900 Gold Certificate PMG Very Fine 20 Net. Redeemed and cancelled, as are all known notes of this issue. The surviving examples of this series all came from an incident in 1935, when there was a small fire at a Post Office building in Washington, D.C. Firefighters threw several stacks of these cancelled notes onto the sidewalks, where they were picked up by local passersby.
