Heritage receives USPS Stamp of Approval in D.C. Ceremony

Award shared with major corporate names like Amex, FedEx, Comcast

DALLAS, TX - On Monday, May 18, Heritage Auction Galleries was given an award for Strategic Business Development in United States Southwest Region from the United States Postal Service at its annual National Postal Forum in Washington D.C. Heritage Vice President Ron Brackemyre was in the nation's capitol on behalf of Heritage to accept the award.

"It was quite an honor to receive the award," Brackemyre said. "All of the upper echelon officers of the post office were in attendance and I received our award from Ellis Burgoyne, Vice President of Area Operations of the Southwest Region, and from Patrick Donohue, Deputy Postmaster General/COO."

Heritage was among 10 businesses in the region receiving the award for its work with the Post Office concerning the development of the company's custom branded priority packaging for its catalog mailings. The award represents the culmination of a tremendous effort on Heritage's behalf to actively brand its mailings to potential buyers and consignors across categories.

Besides the Strategic Business Development Awards given at the event, the Post Office was also awarding Creative Business Solutions Awards and Corporate Business Achievement Awards. In the Southwest Strategic Business Development category, Heritage shared honors with nine other companies, many of them among the greatest corporate names in America: American Express, Blockbuster Inc., ING Direct, Hartford Financial Services, Charles Schwab & CO, Comcast Cable, U.S. Bancorp, Foot Locker and FedEx SmartPost.

"We're thrilled to be honored with an award like this," said Greg Rohan, President of Heritage Auction Galleries. "To be in such splendid corporate company is a great thing for Heritage. It shows our commitment to developing our business model as well as to utilizing the innovative services the USPS has put at our fingertips."

For Brackemyre, the trip to Washington D.C. represented a chance to represent Heritage at a national event, but also the opportunity to do some sightseeing in the nation's capitol - certainly one of America's most scenic and historic cities - before attending the formal luncheon.

"After visiting the National Mall, the Smithsonian Castle and the Washington Memorial I attended the National Postal Forum," said Brackemyre. "John E. 'Jack' Potter, the Postmaster General, was the keynote speaker and he conducted a couple of panel discussions addressing the state of the Postal Service and its vision for the future. After the luncheon I went to the exhibit hall where there were more than 120 exhibitors and where I had the chance to checkout all of the latest and greatest products for the mailing industry."
