Majestic 1928 Boston District $5000
Fr. 2220-A $5000 1928 Federal Reserve Note. PCGS Choice About New 58PPQ.
This piece comes from a short run of Boston district 1928 $5000s discovered almost twenty years ago. We have sold all four over the years, and each save for this example is now ensconced in a long term holding, with none available at public sale since 2005. Only about a dozen and a half 1928 $5000 notes are known from all districts combined, and only a literal handful even approach this piece in condition. From the deep embossing to its bright white paper, and from its vivid deep green overprint to its incredible eye appeal, this is a note which appears to have come off the press this very morning. If you appreciate and can afford the very finest in currency, this is a note you should make every effort to bring home tonight.
