Description:
Gem 1905 $20 Technicolor Gold Certificate
Fr. 1180 $20 1905 Gold Certificate PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
This note comes from the small hoard of high-grade $20 1905's that William Philpott purchased from a friend who had worked at the Treasury Department. There were originally 25 notes in the group that were not consecutive, but all came from the pack that began A4043-. Other examples which reside in 67 holders have realized $97,750 to $132,250. This piece is just a touch narrower at the top right, which likely accounts for the two-point spread. Save for that trifle, this 65 EPQ Technicolor is as nice as a note can get.
