Description:
Rare & Desirable Superb Gem New 67PPQ Danielsonville Brown Back
Danielsonville, CT - $5 1882 Brown Back Fr. 474 The Windham County NB Ch. # (N)1360
A spectacular note in all respects, combining grade, desirability and rarity in equal measure. The Danielsonville title was used only on Brown Backs from this bank, and lasted for only a decade until the town changed its name to Danielson. Only four examples are known bearing this nomenclature, with this the only specimen available during the past fifteen years. It is by far the finest reported, and is in fact as nice as any third party graded Brown Back from this state we have ever encountered. Our consignor paid over $15,000 for this magnificent note in its last auction appearance a decade ago, and we see no reason whatever to believe it will not realize that figure or more today. PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ, a true Connecticut trophy item if ever there was one.
