This multi-colored note bearing the stern visage of Queen Victoria in the center is one of the most exceptional Canadian rarities that we have ever been privileged to offer. Cataloguing for $10,000 in Very Fine (and unpriced in any higher grade), the new Charlton catalogue notes that "The 1884 $5 notes have long been known to be very rare. At present five issued notes are known, of which one is in an institutional collection and another is punch cancelled." Any estimate here is simply a guess, but it is quite likely that this PCGS Very Fine 20 specimen will easily reach and perhaps well exceed...
